There is a document dated November 12, 1770 that constitutes the oldest known description of the Border Pillory, whose construction is certainly much later probably from the beginning of sec. XVI.
In Fronteira, district of Portalegre.
The monument was classified Property of Public Interest on October 11, 1933.
